On Sept 2nd, Q had his first day of pre-school. Of course we took some photos to mark the occasion. Luck for us, it was a really nice morning for the photos and our first walk there.
The preschool he attends is Little Rhythms Learning Center. Since Q was about age 6 months we have done the Music Together program through Bonnie. When she announced opening a preschool there was no question where would be a great place for him to go. I have to say, over the last month we have been really happy with our choice. I think the connection Q already has with Bonnie has also really helped ease the transition.
This year we chose to send him only 4 days a week. Feeling it would be an easier change from being home all the time to school. At the moment our plan is to send him all 5 days next year. I already feel like Q’s speech has improved thanks to being around his peer group more often. Something that makes me really excited. He’s always had a lot to say and it’s really nice to be able to understand him more. We learned just last week that he does play with a couple of the other kids. I always ask him about if he played with anyone, but often his answer is no.
We are looking forward to see how Q progresses throughout the year. I’ve put together a folder to hold all of his art projects and any important papers for the year. I plan on doing something similar for each year of school.
Here’s how I found Q at the end of his first day.
