While buying some items from my local Joann’s, I happen to walk by a display geared for making your own cloth diapers from PUL fabric.
I’ve seen this display before but usually they are out of a bunch of the items so I haven’t paid much attention to it for some time now. They have some really cute patterns and actually I picked up some of the packaged precut stuff some time ago intending to make a bib or two for Q. This time they had some of the pattern books in stock and among them is one for making training underwear. “Hot dog” I thought! I’ve been wanting to get some more since we are having a good time training Q, why not try to make my own? I like sewing.
These are a fast project, so that was cool. Downside is that the first one I made is way too big(pictured above). I went by weight like it says and while Q is about 24 pounds he isn’t big enough for the medium. Next I made a small. He is asleep now so I will try it out on him tomorrow. If the small doesn’t fit, then I may just go and buy some more. Lol.
My only complaint is that this pattern is really easy but the directions need a bit of decoding. I found myself reading them twice, sometimes three times in order to really understand what they meant. In some cases I had to go back and read the pattern for the first item, which is a plain knit trainer. I was making the waterproof trainer. Now that I’ve done two, my need to read the directions has almost disappeared though.
