Although for Quince and I this trip is all about vacation, for Richard it is not. However before the work started we got the treat of going to Yilan and Jiaosi. 

We left Taipei yesterday morning. First we stopped in Yilan. It has train station decorated with art from a cartoonist from the reigon. 

 After lunch we went to a destillary called KaVaLan. They make a single malt whiskey. It felt like we were in the movie Strange Brew. Following the walk through of the tanks and barrel aging areas we went in for the tasting. To our un-whiskey accustomed taste buds it was good. Since buying a bottle would be risky for all the traveling we have left, we decided to get a glass. Cross your fingers it doesn’t get broken! This same company also owns Mr. Browns Coffee. Which is very popular throughout the area. 

 
After that we headed to an orchid greenhouse. Unfortunately none of their flowers were blooming.
