Spring is the opener season for gardening, backyard BBQs, camping, and many other things. But it also means convention time. A time when nerds from all over assemble, sometimes in cosplay, around a weekend for sharing their passion with a hell of a lot of other people. It’s awesome.
This past Halloween I made Quince a brown cloak which is suitable for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and of course Star Wars. He has said he wants to wear that.
For myself I went stash busting through my fabric bin and came out with something I bought many years before. Space invaders! Having just made a circle skirt for my niece’s birthday, that’s what I would do.
I decided to pair two matching solid colors as I didn’t have enough space invaders to make a full skirt.
Because I didn’t have enough this project took much longer than the online tutorial says it should. I have to take extra time figuring out a good way to divide to the panels, as well as extra time to cut and stitch them.
