We welcome the beautiful day of summer this August 1st on the peninsula! Since it could end tomorrow, I went out this morning to the waterfront trail for a quick walk after our morning routine. The tide was out a little and the air smelled of fresh sea air. We swung by the coffee shop, sitting outside with Janet and Tanya for a little while before heading home. The kitty girls are outside playing and we’re having a relaxed day. It’s days like this that help us remember what the Northwest is an awesome place to live. What is unusual for this year is the amount of snow still lurking on the mountain tops. In past years the snow is all but a distant memory by now. Our cherry trees are only just now starting to ripen the cherries on the tops of the trees.
Richard is making good progress in the yard work battle! Over the weekend he pruned back more bushes and trees in the back yard. You can now follow the brick path all the way to the swing again! I would post up pictures of that as well however, the yard looks so bad I can’t bring myself to take pictures. Even for the sack of before and after shots. When he started, the grass in the back hit just below his waist in some spots. if you know how tall Richard is that should help give you an idea on how bad it was. We’re looking for suggestions on helping the yard be not so high maintenance, if you have some please post them as comments here. Something that doesn’t require a backhoe or more directly, money is most preferred. 🙂
