Christmas tree

This year we let Q pick out the tree. Upon getting it home we quickly realized that it’s quite possibly the largest tree we have ever gotten before.

Here’s Q trying to make his tree selection. We aren’t really sure how he made his decision.

Since we lack what some people would refer to as “real car”, naturally we had to use the Spark. Nothing a couple folded cardboard boxes and tie-downs can’t fix. Maybe someday we’ll get the crossbars for the roof rails even.IMG_1976

Our winner is a Douglas Fir standing 8 ft tall and spreading about 4 to 5 ft wide. Instead of placing it centered in front of the window we had to move the parlor around so that it could fit into the corner. While I had my hesitations, it looks quite good there.

Since I could, here is a time lapse video of us taking the tree out of the bundle it was in. Richard let Q help a little bit, although he was little worried when it popped open the very bottom.  TL_Tree_2014  It’s really short, but the first one I’ve ever made. 🙂

I also did a second time lapse video of us adding the lights. Link here Look for a post soon about my first two time lapse videos. But here isn’t the place for that.

Now that the tree is all decorated it looks great!
