They aren’t the ones you can earn in WoW even! Richard and I are really happy with how Quince is doing. He’s continuing to impress us with his patience and general behavior. The week of the 19th, we were at the hospital lab again for another phenobarb blood draw. His is making quick friends with the ladies in the lab! He cried more than the last draw, but still was rather amazing for the whole thing. Quince has recently discovered he can squeal. At various points in the day a small “aaAAAHH” or “eeeEEEEeee” can be heard in the house. He especially loves being on his back, on his changing pad. We suspect it’s because he gets to be partly or fully naked, apparently a very exciting activity which involves a lot of chatting. We have been working with him on rolling and he’s starting to roll from his stomach to back once and awhile completely unaided. With just a touch of help, he can roll from his back to stomach with ease as well. Also since our previous set of appointments at Swedish, we have been working with Quince on bringing his arms to his midline while laying on his back. I’m pleased to say that we are finally starting to see our work take shape. It’s very exciting as he is now starting to do this on his own. Quince and I have also been going on the water front for walks. If we go in the morning, it’s rather nice and I can get in a decent 1/2 hour long walk without much incline. Here’s a view of the pier from the trail.
In other news, work for Richard has been going really well and he’s been rather busy since we got home from Swedish. Things are looking to remain that way for their office throughout the rest of the year and well into next year. We are also looking forward to our first actual family trip in a few weeks! My cousin is getting married at Whistler. It will also be my first time there! After the wedding we plan to head up to visit Richard’s cousin on the Sunshine coast.
Richard recently set a personal goal to get the yard cleaned up by August. So far he’s done a great job! With my being pregnant, his busy work schedule, general baby preparation and then all of our time at Swedish we weren’t able to do much around the house or yard. We’ve been playing catching with all of it. Richard spent a lot of time weedwacking, until our friend Lorrie offered to finish up. That then allowed him to move on with pruning trees and mowing. The yard waste bin is getting quite a lot of attention!
